Renowned film-maker Tareque Masud and ATN News Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ashfaq Munir Mishuk are among the five people killed in a terrible road accident on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Gheor upazila of Manikganj district Saturday(13th August).
Three others, including Katherine Masud, wife of Tareq Masud and a film maker, were also injured critically in the accident.
He died on road accident on 13 August, 2011 while returning Dhaka from Manikganj on the Dhaka-Aricha highway after visiting a shooting location. His microbus collided head-on with an oncoming passenger bus.
Manikganj police super Mohammad Ali said Katherine Masud was shifted to Dhaka.
The other injured include Dhali Al Mamun and his wife Dilara Begum Jolly. Dhali Al Mamun is a teacher of Dhaka Institute of Fine Arts,
“Tarequ Masud along with his film-making team was going to the shooting spot in Manikganj for pre-production works of a new movie styled Kagajer Phul,” said one of the team members.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and opposition leader and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia expressed deep shock due to this tragic event.
